The mission of Youth M.O.V.E (Motivating Others through Voices of Experience) Minnesota is to unite youth voices to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of mental health disorders. In addition, Youth M.O.V.E empowers teens and young adults to be equal partners in fostering change and improving systems of care for youth mental health. Currently we engage in activities such as, reaching out to schools about reducing mental health stigma, supporting students and the community in conversations about mental health and getting involved with local events to continue to spread awareness about mental health disorders.
Youth M.O.V.E. is a program that is overseen by the Minnesota Association For Children’s Mental Health (MACMH). Youth M.O.V.E. National oversees state-wide chapters, however, MACMH is responsible for the Minnesota chapter. If you are interested in starting a Youth M.O.V.E chapter at your local school or any area in Minnesota please let us know!
In alignment with Youth M.O.V.E. National, we work toward the day when all people will recognize and accept the culture of youth, their families, and the communities that serve them in order to be truly culturally competent. We, the members of the Youth M.O.V.E. Minnesota chapter, work to bring about a time when youth are no longer treated as numbers, problems or caseloads, but as individuals and humans. We will all stand together as youth, youth advocates, parents, and professionals to see youth empower ourselves through our voice to become successful leaders.
